Scribe has developed an online directory of Apprenticeships, Traineeships and other training for 16 to 18 year olds in Merseyside. The Mapped Out online directory has been developed on behalf of client, Greater Merseyside Learning Providers Federation (GMLPF), a membership body representing 60 local learning providers.

Central online resource

GMLPF knew there was no centralised online resource for young people to check what courses were available in their area, if they were about to leave school, or not engaged in training, education or employment (NEET). GMLPF also recognised that a resource like this would not only be useful for school leavers but also for parents, careers teachers and advisors, and referral agencies supporting young people.

Scribe were asked to develop the Mapped Out directory to be accessible via the GMLPF website, with functionality to allow GMLPF’s 60 members to log in and populate their own individual profile pages including details of their provision.

The finished product allows users to search for Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Study Programmes and NVQs. Courses are searchable by industry sector, geographic location and job role. It also provides additional information such as transport routes and specialist support available.

Scribe took on all aspects of the project from initial concept through to design, technical development and launch. We delivered webinar training sessions for learning providers on how to upload their information. We also oversaw the population of the directory, liaising with the learning providers to troubleshoot any problems and ensure they populated the directory by the agreed deadline in time for the launch.
